As a teenager, I have come across some problems faced by girls in the present world.
Female foeticide :
Female foeticide is the process of finding out the sex of the foetus and undergoing abortion if it is a girl. Although it is illegal, many people continue to practice it. Besides this, there are some communities which practice female infanticide - the practice of killing the girl child once she is born. The Indian government has passed Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act (PCPNDT) in 1994 to ban and punish prenatal sex screening and female foeticide.
Literacy :
"Poor girls drop out of school because they are not interested in getting an education” as there are no facilities in rural areas, especially in Adivasi areas,
Not even proper schools, No teacher in the schools on regular basis, No schools near their homes, No transport facilities if the schools are far away, Families too poor to afford schooling expenses, Discrimination on the basis of caste, creed, religion or sex, Preference for boys for education and not girls.
Burdening women :
Many girls face the double burden of performing household chores within their own households (for example, cleaning, cooking, childcare, collecting water and firewood), combined with agricultural activities, such as sowing, harvesting and livestock holdings. Additionally, a higher percentage or girl child labourers are unpaid; and in the situation that child labourers are paid, girls are often paid less than boys for doing the same job.
Child marriage:
Child Marriage is defined as a marriage of a girl or boy before the age of 18 and refers to both formal marriages and informal unions in which children under the age of 18 live with a partner as if married. ... Child marriage violates children's rights and places them at high risk of violence, exploitation, and abuse.
Dowry :
A dowry is a payment, such as property or money, paid by the bride's family to the groom or his family at the time of marriage. ... The custom of dowry is most common in cultures that are strongly patrilineal and that expect women to reside with or near their husband's family (patrilocality).
Violation on women :
Rape is the fourth most common crime against women in India. According to the 2019 annual report of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), 32033 rape cases were registered across the country, or an average of 88 cases daily, slightly lower than 2018 when 91 cases were registered daily.
Self defence :
It is recommended to keep your purse front and walk on the roads by paying full attention around the road.
• Safety : The primary importance of self-defence is for women to be able to protect themselves against anything that's unacceptable in terms of social conduct.
• Confidence: There is nothing more empowering than having the confidence to analyse a dangerous situation and take actions to overcome them effectively.
My small shabdkosh about girls,
She's just a girl, and she's on fire
Hotter than a fantasy, longer like a highway
She's living in a world, and it's on fire
Feeling the catastrophe, but she knows she can fly away
she got both feet on the ground
And she's burning it down
she got her head in the clouds
And she's not backing down
girl is on fire
She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.
" Girls are strong, when everything seems to be going wrong."
Are girls happy in this current world? What mindset does society have for women? Plse comment ❤️ , share if u think this is right💜, support if u have seen or faced this in life 💛.
