Hello Buddy, The feelings that anger commonly masks include fear, anxiety, guilt, shame, embarrassment, jealousy, sadness, hurt, and worry. Here are my few experiences that triggered me a lot.
*What causes anger issues?
Many things can trigger anger, including stress, family problems, and financial issues. For some people, anger is caused by an underlying disorder, such as alcoholism or depression. Anger itself isn't considered a disorder, but anger is a known symptom of several mental health conditions.
* Merits of Anger :
Anger Can Lead to Self-Improvement. It can make you a better person and can be a force of positive change. It provides insight into our faults and shortcomings. If looked at constructively, this can lead to positive outcomes. Just like motivation, it can lead to self-change.
" Holding on to anger is like drinking poison and expecting other person to die."
*Demerits of Anger :
1) Effects on brain :
When we get angry, the heart rate, arterial tension and testosterone production increases, cortisol (the stress hormone) decreases, and the left hemisphere of the brain becomes more stimulated. ... There is an increase in heart rate, arterial tension and testosterone, but the cortisol level decreases.
2) IQ drop :
According to an article called "Where did my IQ points Go?" in Psychology Today, when we get angry the light goes out in the prefrontal cortex, which is the excutive functioning and decision making region of the brain. It's like we're operating with 10 to 15 less IQ points when we're angry.
